About Levee Line
Levee Line is a home water notebook for the Sacramento region, organized around one idea: what comes out of your tap depends on which supplier serves your address.

What Levee Line is
Levee Line collects what Sacramento-region homeowners need to know about their water and puts each figure next to the document it came from. It covers Sacramento, West Sacramento, Elk Grove, Rancho Cordova, Citrus Heights, Carmichael, Fair Oaks, Folsom, Roseville, El Dorado Hills, Rio Linda and nearby communities, with Davis and Woodland where they help.
Most numbers here come from each supplier's own annual water quality report, dated by report year. The rest come from California and federal rules, maker manuals and certifiers' listings. The sourcing page explains how that works and what gets left out.
What Levee Line is not
Levee Line is not a plumbing company. It does not install, repair or inspect anything, and it has no crews, trucks or service area. Where a job calls for a professional, the pages say so and point to the license or agency involved.
It is not a water district, a utility or a public agency, and it does not speak for one. When a page says a supplier reports a figure, that is a quote from the supplier's document, not a statement on its behalf.
It has no connection to any business that used this web address before. A different business once held the domain; Levee Line is a new publication with its own owners, and nothing from that earlier business carries over.
Who owns it
Levee Line has the same owners as two online water-treatment stores, SoftPro Water Systems and Quality Water Treatment. A small number of pages link to products those stores sell; the ownership page lists every one of them and the rules those links follow.
The ownership is stated because it matters when you read a page about softeners or filters. On soft river water, the pages say plainly that a softener is rarely needed.
How to use it
Start with your supplier. Find it on the water district page, then read the pages on hardness, treatment, pipes, water heaters and bills with that supplier's figures in mind. The home page links every section.
Figures change when suppliers publish new reports, usually each summer. When a page and your supplier's newest report disagree, the report wins. The terms of use and privacy page cover the rest.
